The Town of Java was officially established 1832 in Wyoming County NY. According to the United States Census Bureau, Java is about 47 square miles.

The building was erected around 1850 and was originally a school. It is listed on the National Historic Register. The interior houses many artifacts of Java’s history, and we are always working to display and preserve these collections with proper care and respect.

We offer a membership and for just $10.00 a year per household, you can have access to a wealth of our town’s shared history and help preserve the Java #1 schoolhouse. For more information click the button below.
